Responsibilities
If you are a specialist capable of managing the project from design and prioritization, scheduling tasks, control, communications towards prompt problem-solving, we are inviting you to join us. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in managing complex software development projects across multiple teams. This role requires a strategic thinker overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring seamless coordination between Velvetech’s development teams and various client-side stakeholders working on an innovative EduTech product.
- Act as a Product Owner assistant, defining product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities in alignment with client objectives and business goals
- Lead projects in a project manager capacity and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders in the client team eliminating roadblocks, facilitating decision-making, lead user acceptance testing activities
- Facilitate collaboration across 4-5 development teams and a technical project manager to ensure cohesive project execution and innovation
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, outlining key milestones, resources, and timelines, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives
- Serve as the primary liaison between client stakeholders and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and effective management of expectations
- Advocate for Agile practices and facilitate team agility growth, participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, driving productivity and efficiency at a macro level
- Monitor project progress, address potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project scope, schedule, and quality
- Provide executive-level updates on project status, risks, and opportunities, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged
- Communicating with the customers, managing their expectations, presenting ready-made solutions, demo versions, and prototypes

The product you will be overseeing serves a vital role in numerous public and private schools in North America, enhancing teaching effectiveness and student learning through innovative software solutions. This product leverages data analytics and user-friendly interfaces to deliver personalized educational experiences and real-time progress tracking, contributing significantly to educational outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in a project management or product owner role within a software development environment
- Proficiency in Agile, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification is highly desirable. Experience with Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) is nice to have
- English level – C1 (written and spoken) or better
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple project teams and manage large-scale software development projects
- Understanding technical matters: high-load web applications architecture, relational databases, Microservices, AI/ML technologies, and mobile development specifics
- Exceptional leadership, time management, and communication skills
